Approximately 80km east of Kota Kinabalu is Tambunan, a rural valley district with a troubled culture and history of violence against, and the suppression of women.
The Tambunan Ginger Project is a self-sustaining agronomic model. It aims to provide the women of Tambunan with opportunities for financial freedom and improved living conditions.
